2 cans young jackfruit in BRINE (not syrup)

1 tbsp. vegetable broth (for sautéing)

1 yellow onion, diced

2 tsp. liquid smoke

1 cup vegetable broth

1 tbsp. garlic, minced

1 tsp chili powder

1 tbsp. paprika

1 tsp. smoked paprika

1 tsp. cumin

salt & pepper to taste

1 bottle BBQ sauce of choice


To prepare the jackfruit, drain jackfruit. Cut out seeds and shred into small pieces. 

Saute 1 tbsp. vegetable broth, onions, and garlic until translucent.

Coat jackfruit with all the spices. 

Saute jackfruit with onions and garlic. Cook until lightly golden brown. 

Top jackfruit with bbq sauce.

If you want the jackfruit to be more crispy, bake in the oven at 400 for 15-20 minutes.
