Littleton, CO-based vegan gym Whole Health Club (WHC) launched an online tool last week to revolutionize the fitness industry. The gym, which opened last year, focuses on plant-based nutrition and has an on-site kitchen to teach members about holistic health. The club’s new digital extension, according to trainer Austin Joseph, is a way to reach people outside of Littleton. “A lot of people know about the benefits of a whole foods, plant-based lifestyle from documentaries like Forks Over Knives and What the Health," Joseph said. "But a switch like this can still be intimidating enough to prevent people from taking the leap. I think having easy access to experts can help a lot of people make the switch and get healthier than ever before in the process.” Memberships are $10 per month and include 24/7 access to experts, weekly Facebook Live workout and cooking videos, and one-on-one training sessions. WHC intentionally made the program affordable, Joseph said, to attract a wider audience. “By reaching people who haven't seen our message before,” Joseph said, “we can change lives and save a lot of animals in the process!” In Portland, OR, vegan gym Liberation Barbell opened in April with a similar approach to fitness and a focus on inclusivity for people who might otherwise feel marginalized in traditional gym settings.
