Our lives are based around food and it has such a negative rep. It should be something we wake up looking forward to. And being able to make healthy and good tasting food for a living every single day is my dream.

8. WHC is so lucky to have you as part of the team and community…any final words for our members and followers? Don’t be afraid of food or cooking. It’s something that we are supposed to do and be around and it should be something positive. We only get one body to live in so why not put the best things inside of it. Whole plant foods are delicious and they can heal us and make us live the fullest, longest, and happiest life. So treat it good!

My “home” state for the past 14 years, Colorado has given me infinite opportunities to do outdoors activities, ranging from skiing to climbing fourteeners.

7. What made you want to be a Chef? My mother is an excellent cook and taught me how to cook at an early age. My parents have always had a big garden where they grow an abundance of fresh and tasty veggies. Vegetable dishes constituted most of the menus. Kayla C- Trainer

1. As somebody who loves to workout, what is your favorite exercise that you do? The deadlift! It’s my favorite because it tends to be a movement people avoid, for a variety of reasons. In high school, we weren’t allowed to deadlift in the weight room because the school was afraid kids would injure themselves. In college, I rarely saw women deadlifting in the weight room, even among exercise science majors, as a lot of women are afraid to venture into the free weight section. The deadlift is a great exercise for developing the “posterior chain” and also giving women confidence at the gym! I believe it’s a disservice to athletes to leave it out of a strength program, and also a disservice to women who avoid it because they are afraid to learn it--learning how to deadlift properly will give you confidence in the weight room and heavy lifting will develop your glutes and hamstrings in ways that body weight-only movements cannot.

2. If Hollywood made a movie about Kayla, what actor would play you and what would the movie be called? Kristen Bell (did you know she’s 5’1”?) playing in a chick flick called “I Will Probably Die Introverted and Single” where she mostly sits around and reads romance novels, drinks wine, takes naps with a German Shepherd and comes up with clever excuses to avoid social events.

3. What types of music/artists would we find on your most recent playlist that you made? I tend to listen to everything, but I’m always vibing classic rock for a workout. AC/DC, Bon Jovi, Foreigner and Bryan Adams are some old time favorites.

4. What drew you to Whole Health Club? The people! All the staff at Whole Health Club are passionate about what they do and value quality above all else, which makes it a great atmosphere for everyone. I look forward going to work every day when I know my work is valued!

5. What has been the best part of your WHC experience to date? Unlimited espressooo! :-) But also, my clients have all commented on what a nice place it is to work out in--the facility is beautiful, functional and open and that makes a huge difference from working out in crowded, machine-cluttered gyms.

6. Are you a CO Native, if not, where are you from? Sturgis, SD. It’s a small town with a population of about 6,000 that gets packed once a year with over half a million motorcyclists. I go home a couple times a year to visit my family and my horse, Blaze. :)

7. What made you want to be a Trainer? I have personally struggled with my weight and body image in the past and want to help women break away from an unhealthy mindset, cyclical eating and feeling uncomfortable at the gym. Working out should be fun, empowering and easy! You shouldn’t have to grind through it or dread going--my job is to make sure that your experience at Whole Health Club is a positive one and that you look forward to coming back, especially as you notice your confidence build and your body start to change!

8. WHC is so lucky to have you as part of the team and community…any final words for our members and followers? I would especially encourage women over 40 to come give Whole Health Club a try--I specialize in functional programs for women who are overweight/obese, have recently finished a physical therapy program or are looking for a custom program that will meet their needs and challenges. I enjoy working with anyone who has never been to a gym before, has movement restrictions or is starting an exercise program for the first time!!

Jaci- Trainer/Nutritionist

1. As somebody who loves to workout, what is your favorite exercise that you do? Burpees/Deadlifts anything core

2. If Hollywood made a movie about Jaci, what actor would play you and what would the movie be called? Kate Hudson would play me in a movie called, "Live the Journey, Cultivate the Experience, and Love Unconditionally."

3. What types of music/artists would we find on your most recent playlist that you made? Weezer, Motion City Soundtrack, more Weezer and Mumford and Sons - ALL DAY

4. What drew you to Whole Health Club? The amazing concept and the fact that this is exactly what is missing from the fitness industry. To reach your goals, it's not just about fitness, you need to know how to eat and make it your lifestyle too. That's where Whole Health Club comes in. Watch out world, here we come!

5. What has been the best part of your WHC experience to date? Being part of it from the ground level, I am so excited to see us take on the world with this team. We have the idea, the people and the opportunity and we're not turning back.

6. Are you a CO Native, if not, where are you from? Minnesota, born and raised, then Florida, then Colorado.

7. What made you want to be a Trainer? Training for me is about making a difference in people's lives, creating change and empowering people to live the life they truly desire.

8. WHC is so lucky to have you as part of the team and community…any final words for our members and followers? We are all in this together; this journey we call life. Every single one of us is here for a purpose to support and love others just as they are. You are amazing and beautiful! See each day through loving eyes and take in each breath with gratefulness.
